Today during the Auburn vs. Alabama game (War Eagle!) I was able to get the Christmas Decorations up. I just love how the house looks when it so holly, jolly, festive. We also took a special trip to Kohls to get Oliver his very first Christmas ornament. We wanted to come up with a special way to celebrate him at our house this year since we will not get to spend this Christmas with him. I also decided to put up garlands with lights on the outside of the house but at Lowe’s the pre-lit garland was $25.00 for 5 feet but you could buy realistic looking garland for $6.00 + $2.00 for a string of lights so I thought it can’t be that hard to string my own garland….boy was I wrong! They are UNDER charging for making it pre-lit because it took me not only hours but days! But I am very happy with the way it turned out. Enjoy the pics or better yet come on over to see!
Happy Thanksgiving!
25 NovHappy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope all of you had a very blessed day. I know Eric and I are SO lucky to have such great families. Today we celebrated Thanksgiving with my family. It was a fun filled day of eating, sweet speeches, corn hole, nature walks, and more eating. We enjoyed having everyone over here to visit. I can’t cook very well but I sure do love setting a nice table for all the cooks food! Enjoy our movie and pics…
The Bird Mystery Movie
23 NovSo we have had a bit of a mystery noise going on here around 1:30 am every night. I think the movie below explains it all… Please know I got a bit carried away at making this as dramatic as possible.
Adoption Update
23 NovWhat has me smiling like this??? We just got our paper work for the final stage of the 1-600A approval. This letter is our appointment sheet to go and get our biometric scans done. Once the scans are finished our paper work
will be sent to Korea and we will be “Officially Waiting”. And officially waiting means that any day we can get a phone call letting us know who our little man is! I know that many of you do not realize what an exciting step
this appointment is but just so you know some people wait several months to get their appointment dates and it took us less than 2 weeks! We know that this speedy paperwork service is only from God and for that we are very
appreciative to the big man upstairs!!!
And in other adoption news we had a meeting with Spence-Chapin our adoption agency last week where the went over a bunch of details. It was the first time the conversation went like “WHEN you get your child…” “You WILL meet
this person WHEN you are in Korea…” “YOUR CHILD will cared for by this doctor…” It was the first time that we had that positive wording of WHEN this happens not IF this happens so that was a big change in conversations
and just made us giddy!
So needless to say I am over the moon with happiness! I think I have completely switched into expectant mommy mode. I cry all the time with happiness! I am even crying now as I type this email. The feelings of what I
feel inside for our child is incredible. It is indescribable how much my heart overflows with love over my “tiny human” (and yes I did steal that phrase from Grays Anatomy- but don’t you just love it). Until the day when
my little boy is in my arms I will keep praying this verse because I know one day soon I will see it come true!
1 Samuel 1:27 “For this child I prayed and the Lord has granted me what I have asked of him!”
So our appointments are set for November 30th! I will let you know once we are Officially Waiting in Korea!
War Eagle
13 NovTonight we had people over to watch the AU game…War Eagle! The highlight of the night for me was teaching my nephew Taylor how to rollerblade! I am so excited he is finally old enough to do this. I have been waiting years to teach him. Unfortunately I did not get any pics! But the game was fun and we had a very fun night having my niece Bella spend the night after. There is something so sweet about waking up to seeing a little one smiling right next to your face!
A Walk on the Beach
11 NovWe went down to the beach for a couple of days this week. I remembered to take the tripod so we were able to capture a couple of shots of us. I just love the way some turned out. While we were down there we also hit up the local outlets and they have AMAZING deals this time of year. We racked up on little Oliver clothes! It was a bit chilly but still a nice time!
We Are Back…
10 NovSorry we have been missing for a while. Things have been crazy in our neck of the woods! A lot of fun busy weekends, adoption training, major work changes, and one very sad event has put the blog on hold for a while. I am finally getting settled in to this new way of life and am back and ready to share again. Be sure to take a look at the previous posts to see what all we have been up to.
Thanks for following us!
