The Connected Child: A Show Hope Adoption Conference

10 Sep

This weekend we headed on up to Nashville, TN to attend The Connected Child Adoption Conference. Steven Curtis and ….Chapman who have adopted from China and started this great organization Show Hope put on this conference to provide a great weekend. The main speaker was the sweet ….who was there to discuss her book “The Connected Child.” All I can say is that we learned TONS! We have read many books and studied a good bit on anything adoption related but her lectures really gave great practical insight on how to daily incorporate her tips and experience to raise a well disciplined yet strongly loved and attached child. It gave us both a lot of confidence in an area surrounding adoption that we were not that comfortable with quite yet.

Another bonus of the conference was that we got to stay with Eric’s family who live in Nashville. We had a great time getting to hang out with everyone. They were also so sweet to take the two of us out to dinner to celebrate our adoption. It was such an honor to see their excitement for us. We are so excited about our little one out there and we had a great time celebrating out tiny human to come.

New Job

6 Sep

After months of looking and many more months of praying I started a new job! I loved my clients at my old job but other than that I felt my time in that industry was coming to a close. God really blessed me with a great new job selling technology to K-12 schools. I absolutely love it! It has been a wild transition getting trained and not to mention that I came aboard with the new company at their busiest time of year. I have already had 5 overnight work trips and only been there not even two months. But the bonus of the new job completely outweigh the long days and nights.

This job is nice because when I am not out on the road I am working at home and they have the same holidays and busy times as the schools which will be perfect in the future! :)
